REPLACEMENT/REPAIR THERMOSTATIC CARTRIDGE FOR 057SQ & 057SQD BATH SHOWER MIXER TAPS:

Symptoms: Does your tap/shower/valve no longer regulate the temperature effectively? Are you getting strange 'surging' or vibration noises? Are you is a hard water area like 60-65% of the UK?

Solution: Simply change the cartridge, not the whole mixer tap!

Principally made from brass, this generic Thermostatic Cartridge is suitable for many manufacturers, and some of the types of Taps and Showers that we sell are shown in the Picture gallery above.

The operating Temperature range is between 20 to 48 Degrees C, with safety override button at the 38 Degrees C position. The cartridge comes calibrated to 38 Degrees C. There is no handle with this listing.

Removal/Installation with one of the 057SQ/057SQD (TMC-134) Bath Mixer Taps: To remove the old cartridge, all you have to do is prise off the end cap withy a small flat screwdriver, remove the grub screw that holds the handle on, pull off the handle and stop ring from the spindle, then unscrew the nut shaped section on the brass cartridge. Insert the new one, and tighten the nut. We suggest you then test the cartridge and when you have located a confortable temperature position (or you can measure the temperature of the water if you want to be really accurate), secure the stop ring and handle so that the 38 degrees mark is in the 12 O'Clock position. Always ensure your water is off when fitting!!

The Dimensions are: Total Length of Cartridge = 87.6mm. Widest section = 28mm diameter (between the nut section and the screrw thread)  Diameter of smooth end section = 20mm. The widest section to the smooth end is some 59mm. There are some 20 splines on the spindle.
