REPLACEMENT/REPAIR THERMOSTATIC CARTRIDGE FOR BATH MIXER & VARIOUS STEAM CABINET TYPE SHOWER VALVES WITH SCREW-THREAD (NOT PUSH-FIT!):

Symptoms: Does your Bath Tap or Shower Valve no longer regulate the temperature effectively, or has the flow diminished? Are you getting strange 'surging' or vibration noises? Are you is a hard water area like some 60-65% of the UK? Solution: Simply change the cartridge, not the whole tap or shower! 

Specification & Features:

• Principally made from brass, this generic 'Screw-in' type Thermostatic Cartridge is suitable for many makes/types of Taps and Showers. Please note it is NOT a 'Push fit' type where you use a grub screw to secure it in the casting/body.
• The operating Temperature range is between 20 to 48 Degrees C, with safety override button at the 38 Degrees C position. The cartridge comes calibrated to 38 Degrees C. 
• The required/recommended water pressures for operation are 0.5 bars to 5 bars. The maximum imbalance ratio between hot and cold must be no more than 5:1. It can be used with most systems subject to these requisite water pressures.
• To install it with a Bath or Shower Mixer Tap/Valve, all you have to do is remove the handle (there is usually a small cap that can be prised off to reveal a grub screw inside), then use mole grips or similar to grab the large 'cogged' shaped section and unscrew from the casting/body. Insert the new cartridge & tighten, then attach the handle to the new cartridge and test it. With the new cartridge the manufacturer put markings on it to show where it has been calibrated to the 38 degrees position so you can line it up correctly with your handle/stop ring. Lubrication may well be needed around the black rubber seals. Always ensure your water is off when fitting!!
• The dimensions are:
• Total Length of Cartridge = Approx 90.6mm - including the copper end section.
• Widest section where the threads are = 34mm diameter.
• Depth of cartridge from top of threads to the tip of the splidle = 30mm.
• The 3 rubber washers are positioned at some 20mm apart.
• The fine screw threads are 7.7mm deep and there are approx 7 threads.
• There are 24 teeth/splines with a diameter os some 9mm.
